CNN's Planet in Peril & Happy 2008!

I just watched a show on CNN called Planet in Peril. In my opinion it portrayed the effects of the climate change in the world in an impartial and neutral – but very real – way.

Although the controversy from skeptics on whether humans are causing the climate change or not has dwindled this last year, they still interviewed a skeptic researcher and invited the US senator who is leading the “Global Warming is a Hoax” speech for an interview. By the way, he later canceled the interview.

Here’s what I think: I think that this is not a moment for “who done it” conversations. Yes, maybe it is a natural course of the planet, and maybe we could all adapt and survive the long lasting effects of these changes.

However, I love this world and I prefer to make the choice to change my own lifestyle to diminish the devastation and effects that I cause and help other people be more conscious about their impact as well. It’s a win x win situation to all and my conscience is clear.

Here’s the first part of the documentary from Youtube if you don’t have access to the CNN channel:

If you don’t know much about climate change, I recommend you watch the whole documentary (it’s available on Youtube in parts).

On another note, I wish everyone not only a Happy New Year, but that every single day, minute and second, bring your life experiences that make you great and opportunities to live a full and incredible life.

I leave you with a thought that I believe to be the essence of living a compassionate and meaningful life:

“Be the change you wish to see in the world”
